Enthralling National Finals Rodeo

For those who don’t understand, this thing is just a silly game which put its player on a hazardous ride. But for the most old western guy, it’s the living symbol of a glorious era of North American history. Yep, that’s what we call Rodeo. Men roped calves and broke wild horses to determine themselves as being the slickest and toughest cowboy around.

In the old days, about a century later, cowboys made their competitions among their small group of cattle herders to test their skill and strength. It was all about pride and joy. But today, this games has been a great feature of entertainment and deals of business. Those cowboys are now hunting for cash prizes and, of course, much admiration from thousands of their screaming fans and millions of television viewers.

I ever read about Calgary Stampede, the oldest and most prestigious in North America. The event was founded in 1912 by a man named Guy Weadick whose also known as a promoter, after he finished his tour with the outdoor theatrical spectacle of Wild West shows. It was so thrilling that in the 1990s, the Calgary Stampede attracts more than 500 entrants wishing for a $600,000 money prize.

Nowadays, I heard another enthralling rodeo comepetition which is held by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). Yes, it’s the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). The other person called it as the “Super Bowl of Rodeo”. It’s the world champion for the seven main competition: calf roping, steer wrestling, bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback bronc riding, and team roping.

It’s extremely interesting to have a seat on the day the rodeo is being held. But, since the event is extremely popular, I guess it’s quite hard to have those National Finals Rodeo tickets. I hope some luck will come to me and give an opportunity to watch one of their events.
