What a miserable weekend! Sunday, June 17, 2007 sometime between 10.00-14.30 local time somebody stole my laptop from my room! It’s an Axioo SL series (a local laptop), indeed it’s a very cheap laptop (I bought it six month ago, for approx. Rp 6.700.000), but there’s invaluable data inside it:

• Data of 4 furniture sites I’ve built including catalog that yet handed over to clients
• A few of future ‘ego’ projects
• Pictures of my son since minutes after born till recent days before laptop had been stolen
• Ebooks and Tutorials collected from webs
• Scripts and contents I gathered from freebies forums at digitalpoint.com
• Softwares and drivers

Also I had to spent three hours or so at a local police station to report the crime. That made me missed the F1 Grand Prix in Indianapolis USA and worth nothing, because in fact I just waited for a local police typing my report and that was all.

I then had to buy another one, fortunately I got a refurbished Sony VAIO laptop in a local shop for a Rp. 7.600.000,- (approx US$ 800.00). The Sony VAIO laptop is a VGN-N160G, with a Centrino Duo Processor, 1 gigabite RAM, 100 gygabites scsi harddisk, with one iEEE 1394 port, 2 USB hi speed ports, an unidentified port (?), but without PCMCIA port.

Lesson learned .. I got the message .. don’t stay away from your egg basket!
