Changes of AdSense Clickable Area .. indeed it has reduced my CTR and eCPM

While I was browsing around on Jensense, I found the latest Jen’s post about changes to AdSense ad clickable areas.

What is the change? AdSense has just changed where a visitor can click on an ad and actually end up truly clicking the ad to visit that advertiser’s site.

Jennifer also showed pictures of the new ads clickable area compared with the old one. But below are my screenshots of the new clickable area (marked in red):

According to Jen, the changes are live in publisher’s ads unit, although it appears to be rolling out as not all ad units are behaving this way yet, so some ad units on your site could be using the new clickable areas while others are not (including the same ad unit sizes on the same site).

And yes it is LIVE in my side, I checked immediately after I read Jennifer post, I even went to all of my blogrolls to find out what Jen wrote. And all my visit ended up with the new format of AdSense .. none with the old wide clickable area format!

And I LOST around 25% CTR on the first day implementation, this is really a sign that the Golden Era Has Long Way Gone

That sounds like your on to something, but i think it hard to find the “perfect spot” to place google adsense. One day this if working and the next day a nother place is giving you more clicks.
Maybe i should come up with a software that will move the adsense around on the page…
