Beta Program from Smorty: Post Exchange

I never logged in to smorty in these past weeks, the reason is, there is not many advertiser offer anymore. I have written almost all tasks and nothing left there except several gambl*ng and pok*r sites.

Today I got email from buyblogreviews.com, mentioning that another advertiser has been entering the market. Logged in to buyblogreviews.com in the same time I opened smorty control panel and found something that currently is running in Beta. However, this beta program might have been running for a while, thus for some part of you this writing is not a surprise anymore, but, hey .. it’s new for me.

The Smorty’s Beta program is ‘Post Exchange’, it simply aims to build a strong and ongoing inbound link structure and increase smorty’s members online traffic. It will work as easy as your routine review task but it’s free, you’ll only be rewarded with points. You write a review for certain blog, and different blogger also will write a post for you.

This will be a good solution to populating your link for free, but for money, it seems that you have to wait, because smorty is seem running out of advertisers. :(

Enthralling National Finals Rodeo

For those who don’t understand, this thing is just a silly game which put its player on a hazardous ride. But for the most old western guy, it’s the living symbol of a glorious era of North American history. Yep, that’s what we call Rodeo. Men roped calves and broke wild horses to determine themselves as being the slickest and toughest cowboy around.

In the old days, about a century later, cowboys made their competitions among their small group of cattle herders to test their skill and strength. It was all about pride and joy. But today, this games has been a great feature of entertainment and deals of business. Those cowboys are now hunting for cash prizes and, of course, much admiration from thousands of their screaming fans and millions of television viewers.

I ever read about Calgary Stampede, the oldest and most prestigious in North America. The event was founded in 1912 by a man named Guy Weadick whose also known as a promoter, after he finished his tour with the outdoor theatrical spectacle of Wild West shows. It was so thrilling that in the 1990s, the Calgary Stampede attracts more than 500 entrants wishing for a $600,000 money prize.

Nowadays, I heard another enthralling rodeo comepetition which is held by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). Yes, it’s the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). The other person called it as the “Super Bowl of Rodeo”. It’s the world champion for the seven main competition: calf roping, steer wrestling, bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback bronc riding, and team roping.

It’s extremely interesting to have a seat on the day the rodeo is being held. But, since the event is extremely popular, I guess it’s quite hard to have those National Finals Rodeo tickets. I hope some luck will come to me and give an opportunity to watch one of their events.

Pesticides will raise risk of Parkinson’s disease

The BMC (Biomed Central) Neurology journal has recently published a study that links pesticides to Parkinson’s disease, a debilitating neurological disease affecting millions of people worldwide. Parkinson’s disease affects the sufferer’s central nervous system and impairs his or her motor skills and speech functions.

The study’s lead author Dana Hancock stated that while previous studies have already shown that individuals with Parkinson’s disease have double the chance of reporting a previous exposure to pesticides, few studies have bothered to look at the association in people with exposure to specific classes of pesticides and Parkinson’s disease.

A team from Duke University and the University of Miami have assembled and surveyed 319 patients and over 200 relatives for the specific study, using phone interviews to gather data concerning people’s histories of exposure to pesticide, whether living or working on a farm, and well water drinking if applicable.

The authors of the study were able to detect conclusive and telling evidence that pesticide use and Parkinson’s disease are associated, with the strongest cases pertaining to the illness and use of herbicides and insecticides such as organ chloride and organophosphate. Associations with between well water drinking or living on farm and Parkinson’s disease however, were not found despite farm life and well waters being the most common avenues for pesticide exposure. It’s been said that future studies may try to find out if the disconnect is due to the sturdier health of people who have lived on a farm for a definite amount of time.

Upload and Download file(s) via FTP

FTP is a protocol used to upload and download files from internet. You might have downloaded a lot files using the www protocol address, but instead of using it an ftp protocol also can be used for downloading files if this feature enabled by webmaster in charge.

Using File Transfer Protocol (or simply FTP) to upload files, however provides a more convenient way that upload files using a non FTP feature (as some control panel provides this feature). With FTP, you can upload a single file, some sort of files, a directory or some sort of directories easily. Just click the file/directory you’d like to upload and click upload (or click the appropriate arrow button) and your file(s)/directory(ies) is/are on the way to go.

You only need the ftp address (like ftp://ftp.yourdomain.com/) a user and a password to connect to your ftp server. It’s a more convenient way to upload and download files from the net, if you know how to do it!

Battlefield 2 Games

I know it’s been out for a pretty long time, but I’m fairly slow on the uptake when it comes to computer games – I suppose one reason might be that the price goes down after a while! Anyway, I’ve just bought one of the best selling and highest rated games for PC of all time, Battlefield 2, by EA Games. In just one word this game is phenomenal.

You can play in single player mode against the computer, but this is relatively easy and, let’s face it, relatively boring. Yes, the real fun starts when you begin to play online against other real players. You can use VoIP to communicate with your squad manager, and there’s a real sense of cooperative play to achieve an overall win for your team which makes the game so addictive and fun to play. You can climb the ladder of ranks, just as in the real Army, and gain awards and medals for your brave actions during combat. This adds a really competitive element to the game, as rewards are unlocked as you play more often and get better at fighting.

If you’re looking for a new, thrilling action game for PC, and haven’t already got Battlefield 2, then what are you waiting for?

Lasik Eye Surgery

One of the oldest forms of eye surgery available, LASIK has been around, at the time of writing, for almost thirty years. During its time on the market, LASIK has developed rapidly and undergone many major changes. These changes have, over the years, made LASIK eye surgery much more safe and it is now one of the most advanced forms of eye surgery available on the market today. It would be lying to say that there are absolutely no risks involved – it is surgery after all – but in comparison to other surgery and eye treatment, the LASIK process is a fairly easy and hassle-free procedure. In most cases, only 1 – 3 days are needed for recovery and healing after the treatment.

You will need LASIK if you have myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism. First of all, a little flap is made in the eye’s cornea, which is then gently opened. This process is called keratomileusis. Then, using an ultraviolet excimer laser, the cornea is shaped into the desired form. This corrects all inadequacies and malfunctions the eye is experiencing.

The good thing about LASIK is that almost everybody who needs it is eligible to receive the treatment. The only requirements is that applicant’s immune system is strong and that their eyes are fully developed. If applicant have these two things, then nothing is stopping them receiving treatment from LASIK. These requirements generally mean that applicants have to be at least 18 and have had no previous eye alterations.

A relatively short treatment, the actual LASIK procedure should last about 40 seconds per eye at most. Although applicants are awake, they are given a mild sedative as well as anesthesia in their eye, so it is generally painless. When, during the first step, a flap of your cornea is lifted, applicatnt’s sight will turn very fuzzy and an extremely bright light will be visible. A corneal suction ring is used during the procedure to hold the eye – the eye’s blood vessels sometime burst because of this, but don’t worry – this is harmless and everything will be back to normal within a few weeks.

Out of the thousands of patients who undergo the procedure, only 3-6% experience any lasting complications. Of the 6% that do experience complications, they are generally mild and consist of eye dryness, light sensitivity, or double vision. More common hitches, for example a slipped flap, will normally heal on their own. Even these mild problems are decreasing in occurrence and severity with today’s ever-improving technology.

Several satisfaction surveys have been conducted after LASIK surgery which show patients to be 92-98% satisfied with their vision after the procedure. Recently, there has been a rise in the number of claims involving different types of laser eye surgery. However, most people believe that an unrealistic perception of LASIK is to blame rather than ineffective or defective operation.

Nowadays, LASIK informations can be found through the internet as well as qualified LASIK eye surgeon. Docshop.com, is among of websites provide those informations. Via their LASIK search page, you can browse extensive database of qualified LASIK eye surgeon near you.

Empek-empek Palembang goes international — advertising on paid review service

Being a buyblogreviews.com member for almost a month and never got my bid accepted, today I got email from their support advised me to log in and check the opportunities. But after I logged in, still there’s no bid accepted or advertiser offers.

Then, I checked if there any opportunity that suit with this blog’s theme, and I found a good advertiser, eventhough their budget only $1 .. they offers bloggers to make a post about empek-empek. A traditional cuisine from Palembang Indonesia, here’s the screenshot:

empek-empek palembang goes international

Unfortunately their budget is too small AND this site haven’t had any food, or cuisine category (although I can create one). But great idea from advertisers by trying to go internationally via paid advertising. This advertiser seems also have a great responses, because as of this writing 54 blogs already bid!

Go Indonesian cuisine!
Makk Nyusss !

Why Read a Domain Registration Review

Reading a domain registration review is more worthy of your time than you may think. There are hundreds of domain name registrars, providers, or companies out there. Choosing which one you would sign up with can become a touch job. The reviews will surely assist. After all, reviews are from those other people that have already experienced what the registrar they are reviewing on are capable of. This will also be a good way to learn what good features are offered and to determine how a certain domain registration company would perform.

Aside from reading reviews, it would also be beneficial to do comparisons. This way you can see which domain name providers are affordable. Reviews will also reveal to you the not- so- good aspects of a registrar, things they do not reveal on their advertisements! The most important purpose though for reading a domain registration review is to be able to make an intelligent choice.

For the domain registration and also web hosting, I always use the cheapest yet trusted service on the net, like what paylessdomains.com.au offered.
