Two Things About Me and My Car in England
Driving car in London could be something different for everyone outside the country since they have the different side of traffic. People like me would have to adapt for a certain times for not to ride on the wrong side of the road. It’s a kind of difficult to ride on the left side road and the left side steer.
I don’t know why England put their traffic on the different side rather than other European countries, but from several tales I heard, it aroused from the Middle Ages. It’s said that every traveler on that day usually put themselves on the left side of the road to protect them from bandits. As they pass on other stranger (whose supposed to be bandit), they could easily draw their sword which located on the left side of their body with the right hand.
It’s the tales and this is the reality. As well as the traffic side difficulties, another thing that I face in this country is the parking spaces. Since the vehicles are growing in numbers, the parking spaces are quite difficult to have. This means I cannot park my car anywhere I want and leave it on a safe state.
According to this situation, some businesses are raising their profits by renting parking spaces. Some London parking spaces like Spring Gardens, Westminster demands £3,525.00 for the annual fee. The other place on Bourchier Street which near the Piccadily Circus station, is putting the £450.00 on a monthly basis.
It’s quite expensive, but I think it’s better to pay rather than be sorry since I could just have the risk of being vandalized.
