Google Supplemental Result Goes Invisible
When first introduced in 2003, the main idea behind Google’s Supplemental Result tag was to separate unimportant pages, duplicated content pages, from the ‘real’ unique and important pages. If searchers made queries and there are no substantial results could be fetched from the main index, then supplemental results tag will be displayed.
But the supplemental result tag has made webmasters and bloggers felt desperate, specially those who tailored their own pages theirself and not copy paste-ing other websites to get unique contents and still ended in a supplemental result tag in their site’s query. And the more that make most webmasters/bloggers upset is ‘the supplemental result tag is visible’. So other can make those as a website’s weakness.
But now, we do not have to worry anymore, as google supplemental result goes mainstream. Google officially anounced that they ‘hide’ the Supplemental tag result in their page. So we will not see the supplemental result tag anymore on google search queries, eventhough it still accesible thru google’s point of view.
At least this tag will not be counted while we want to exchange link with others.
